The proposed monument is a viewing platform on the Kowloon (mainland) side that distorts the view of Hong Kong’s skyline. The design consists of a series of interventions created at different times during the year to mark the transition of ownership from British to mainland China rule. A successive series of projections using light and shadow create forms acknowledging the various powers that have owned Hong Kong.
