Possible Pavilions

The pavilion takes the plan composition and implied spatial layering of the Drawing Degree Zero - Albers series as it’s beginning. Concentric rings of archetypal elements make up the vertical separation of space and give a name to each of the pavilions: Post Pavilion (yellow), Wall Pavilion (red), and Window/Door Pavilion (blue). A matrix of all the possible pavilion permutations is created by interchanging concentric layers. New spatial relationships are created through this method of design generation. Plan oblique axonometric drawings explore the potential of hatch patterning to define surfaces, delineate depth and create shadow.
